HARRIS COMPUTER SYSTEMS ACQUIRES TAILORED BUSINESS SYSTEMS
OTTAWA, ONTARIO – December 3, 2009- Harris Computer Systems (“Harris”), a leading provider of financial, customer and student information management software solutions for utilities, local governments and schools districts, today announced that it has purchased Tailored Business Systems (“TBS”), a wholly owned subsidiary of VillageEDOCS (VEDO).
TBS offers a portfolio of products and services for local government including: property tax billing, utility billing, occupational tax, purchase and invoicing, and volume print and mail distribution services. As a result of the transaction, TBS will be consolidated within Harris’ Spectrum operating division.
Jerry Canada, General Manager of Harris’ Spectrum operating group commented “The acquisition of TBS is an ideal match for the Spectrum division of Harris. TBS has a large, long-standing, and loyal customer base primarily located in the Southeast. As their customers utilize the same core software applications as our existing users, the acquisition creates several new product and service opportunities for both companies’ installed base.”
Harris will continue to develop, service and support the TBS product line from the current Statesboro, GA office. “The TBS team has exceptional experience in providing solutions to local government.
